In 2005 I started my journey in the Mini Cooper Challenge Benelux. I finished 2nd of the Championship which gave me the opportunity to compete in the Mini Cooper Challenge World Cup Final in Misano. Winning it made me becoming the 1st and only MINI World Champion.
After a few years of racing in many different championships, race cars and race teams, I have been very lucky to meet Marc VDS. I have been able to race for 5 years in his team and had to win many races which gave me a lot of credit in the racing world.
In 2013 started my 1st chapter with BMW as a factory driver. I drove the ALMS (USA) with the brand new BMW Z4 GTLM with some great successes. In 2014, my dream came true: I was finally able to race in the DTM for BMW. I will never forget my 1st victory in Moscow in my 5th race ever: an amazing feeling to be able to be the 1st Belgian driver to win a DTM race. Drove for 2 years with BMW Team RMG and 2 years with BMW Team RBM.
Winning the Total 24H of Spa 2016 is my most beautiful victory, a family history that we can’t deny!
In 2018, I decided to give a new chapter to my racing career and went to Aston Martin Racing. Competing in the WEC for 3 years in the GTE Pro has been an amazing experience and winning the 24h of Le Mans GTE Pro in 2020 will always stay as one of my most important victories ever… hat a feeling to stand on the top step of the podium at Le Mans, even if it was maybe the worst year to win it, thanks to the COVID.
After 5 years with Aston Martin Racing and many different successes, it was again time for me to write a new page in my career. So, in 2023, I started my second chapter with BMW and it has been a very exciting journey, full of good moments like the third place in the Dubai 24 Hours, the victory in the first NLS of the 2023 season with Dries Vanthoor and the podiums in the Fanatec GT World Challenge with Valentino Rossi, as well as the victories in Misano and all the achievements of 2024. Our first WEC podium in Imola with Vale and Ahmad Al Arthy was amazing, as was the one in Japan.
This period has been full of thrills and now, in 2025, I am ready for another whirlwind: my path will join that of Mercedes AMG Motorsport for the first time ever. I can’t wait to see what this new season has in store for me, it will all be new but I’m sure that together with Mercedes we’ll be able to do good things. There will certainly be no shortage of high-speed adrenaline!
